On the evening of December 7, 2024, law enforcement officers from the St. Louis County Police Department were dispatched to a residence in the 10500 block of Emerald Ridge Avenue in unincorporated St. Louis County, Missouri. The call, which came in shortly before 10:30 p.m., reported a domestic disturbance that had escalated into violence within the home.
Upon their arrival at the scene near the intersection of Midland Boulevard and Ashby Road, first responders discovered a 38-year-old male, Timothy Aaron Dickerson, suffering from a critical gunshot wound.
Investigators determined that the incident stemmed from a heated argument between Dickerson and his girlfriend inside the residence they shared. During the course of the dispute, the altercation turned fatal when Dickerson was shot in the back. Despite the arrival of emergency personnel, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Detectives from the Bureau of Crimes Against Persons immediately launched an investigation to piece together the events leading up to the shooting.
The primary suspect, identified as 37-year-old Porsche Moore, was present at the scene when authorities arrived. According to police reports, Moore herself had contacted law enforcement to report the incident and subsequently admitted to detectives that she had shot Dickerson during their argument. She was taken into custody without further incident, and the weapon involved was recovered as part of the ongoing investigation.
Following a review of the evidence and Moore's admission, the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney's Office formally charged her with second-degree murder and armed criminal action. A judge set her bond at $250,000, cash-only, with no ten percent option allowed. As the legal proceedings began, Moore remained in detention while Dickerson's family prepared for his memorial services, which were scheduled to be held later that month at a local church in Saint Louis.
