On November 26, 2024, 44-year-old Stephen Nathaniel McCraine was fatally shot in the head at the Pine Ridge Gardens Apartments in Jackson, Mississippi. The incident occurred in the morning hours when two suspects approached McCraine, demanding his Nike Air Jordans. When he refused to surrender his shoes, they shot him and fled the scene with the stolen footwear.
