On December 14, 2024, at approximately 8:11 p.m., Baltimore Police responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the 200 block of North Payson Street, located in the city's southwest district. Upon arrival, officers discovered 29-year-old Travon Q. Benson suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite prompt medical attention, Benson was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Baltimore Police Department's Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation into Benson's death. As of now, no arrests have been made
