On November 22, 2024, at approximately 7:03 a.m., Oak Park police responded to reports of an overturned vehicle and possible gunfire in the 6300 block of Roosevelt Road. Upon arrival, officers discovered a white 2013 Jaguar XJ that had struck a cement barricade and a tree. Inside the vehicle was 34-year-old Scott Robinson from Chicago, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to Loyola University Medical Center in critical condition and was pronounced dead at 7:45 a.m.
Investigators found at least 11 shell casings at the scene, indicating that the shooting was targeted. A witness at a nearby gas station reported observing an individual shooting into Robinson's vehicle before it crashed. The suspect fled the scene, and authorities believe Robinson was specifically targeted. There is no ongoing threat to the community.
