Salvatore "Sam" Giancana, born Gilormo Giancana on May 24, 1908, in Chicago, Illinois, was a notorious American mob boss who led the Chicago Outfit from 1957 to 1966. He was known for his connections to high-profile figures such as President John F. Kennedy, Marilyn Monroe, and Frank Sinatra. Giancana was also implicated in a CIA plot to assassinate Cuban leader Fidel Castro.
