On December 8, 2024, 38-year-old Eric C. Bell of Danville, Illinois, was fatally shot on 2nd Avenue in Danville. Vermilion County Coroner Jane McFadden confirmed his identity and notified his family. An autopsy was scheduled for December 9, 2024.
