On Thanksgiving Day in Bainbridge, Georgia, a tragic event unfolded, resulting in the death of 36-year-old Shendora Adams. The incident, which occurred on November 28, 2024, also claimed the life of her 19-year-old son, Tyiun Adams. Both were found with fatal gunshot wounds in their home on Hunter Road.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation identified Shendora's 36-year-old ex-boyfriend, Jamar Calloway, as the suspect in the double homicide. According to family members, the killings were the culmination of a cycle of domestic violence. Shendora had reportedly ended her relationship with Calloway and had tried to make him leave her home multiple times. It is believed that her son, Tyiun, was attempting to protect his mother during the altercation.
After the shootings, Calloway fled to Ocala, Florida. Later that same day, he was found in the parking lot of the E.D. Croskey Recreation Center, where he met his parents. There, he died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Warrants for murder and aggravated assault had been issued for his arrest. The investigation into the deaths of Shendora and Tyiun Adams is being handled by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, and their findings will be sent to the South Georgia Judicial Circuit District Attorney's Office for review.
