On December 5, 2024, at approximately 1:18 a.m., Columbus Police Officers responded to a reported shooting at a residence in the 7300 block of Sorrel Court in Columbus, Georgia. Upon arrival, they discovered 42-year-old Sonny Chambers deceased from gunshot wounds. Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan pronounced Chambers dead at the scene at 1:55 a.m.
