On November 18, 2024, at approximately 8:53 p.m., a tragic incident occurred in Homestead, Florida, resulting in the death of 23-year-old Brendan Roger Francois and the injury of a 16-year-old female. Homestead Police responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the area of 653 SW 8th Street, where they discovered Francois suffering from gunshot wounds and the teenage girl with a graze wound. Despite efforts by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, Francois was pronounced deceased at the scene.
