Jatavious Williams, a 17-year-old from Homestead, Florida, tragically lost his life on January 7, 2018. He was fatally shot while sitting on a park bench in Blakey Park, located on Southwest 14th Avenue. The incident occurred just after 5 p.m. when three individuals approached him and opened fire. Williams was pronounced dead at the scene. The shooting was part of a series of violent incidents involving teenagers in South Florida, which had left the community deeply shaken and outraged.
