On December 16, 2024, 18-year-old Cameron Jamal Miikquise Thompson, a Black transgender woman from Tuscaloosa, Alabama, was found fatally shot in the 600 block of East 35th Avenue. Authorities discovered her body around 1 p.m., noting multiple gunshot wounds.
