On January 13, 2023, at approximately 5:29 a.m., 40-year-old David Perez was fatally shot in Lubbock, Texas. Police responded to reports of shots fired in the 1900 block of Avenue M, where they found Perez with a gunshot wound to his side. He was transported to University Medical Center with serious injuries and was later pronounced deceased.
