On February 5, 2023, 18-year-old Paul Ortiz was fatally shot in San Antonio, Texas. The incident occurred during a car club meet-up on the city's West Side. Ortiz and two friends attended the gathering near the 8000 block of Meadow Leaf Drive. After police dispersed the initial meet-up, participants relocated to a nearby parking lot.
