On May 2, 2020, Darren Meeks, a 21-year-old male from San Antonio, TX, was fatally shot along with Chance Zachry Seiter, also 21, during what appeared to be a drug deal gone wrong. The incident occurred at an apartment complex in the 1700 block of Jackson-Keller Road. Both victims were found deceased inside a silver Kia, having sustained gunshot wounds to the head.
Authorities later arrested Zion J. Limon, a 20-year-old male, in connection with the murders.
According to police reports, two women who were dating the victims led them to Limon. The women claimed that they had met Limon on social media, who had offered them 'edibles' four days prior to the incident. Upon questioning, Limon was found to be armed with a .380 caliber handgun and had a gym bag containing additional weapons and clothing covered in blood.
Limon was charged with capital murder and indicted by the Bexar County Grand Jury. He claimed that the killings were in self-defense, but the evidence collected, including the shell casings and the victims' statements, led to his arrest and charges.
The case is being prosecuted by the Criminal Trial Division in the 175th District Court. The tragic deaths of Darren Meeks and Chance Seiter highlight the dangers associated with drug-related activities and the severe consequences that can follow.
