Mika was born on September 24, 1984, in Los Angeles, California, to Sharla K. Brown-Henry and Ronald Simpson.
She attended Chatsworth High School and later became a well-known jack of all trades, serving as a Medication Aide at Juliette Fowler Communities in Dallas, Texas, for ten years. She was also a world-class stylist and serial entrepreneur. Mika was married to her husband, Monta Morgan, for over 20 years, and was a dedicated follower of Christ, serving as a member under Pastor Frederick D. Haynes III at Friendship-West Baptist Church.
In a tragic turn of events, on September 25, 2023, a family gathering in Dallas to commemorate Mika's birthday was marred by another drive-by shooting. During the celebration, 2-year-old Zyah "Tinky" Lacy was fatally shot, and a woman was critically injured. Family members expressed profound grief, noting that the gathering was intended to honor Mika's memory.
As of now, there have been no reports of arrests or identification of suspects in connection with the shootings that claimed the lives of Mika and her granddaughter Zyah. The investigations remain ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward to assist in bringing those responsible to justice.
