On January 4, 2014, 64-year-old Hispanic male Guadalupe Perez was fatally shot at the intersection of Garza and San Bernardo Avenue in Laredo, Texas. The incident marked the city's first homicide of the year. Following the shooting, Mr. Perez was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
