Following an investigation, detectives identified two suspects: 18-year-old Wuilson Osmar Pereira and a 16-year-old juvenile. On February 16, 2023, with assistance from the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force, Pereira was arrested without incident. The juvenile suspect was subsequently taken into custody on a directive to apprehend.

Both suspects were charged with murder and detained at the Fort Bend County Jail. Pereira's bond was set at $750,000. Sheriff Eric Fagan commented on the case, stating, "It’s a tragedy when someone’s life is taken away, especially when at the hands of another human being(s). I’d like to thank the investigators for tirelessly working on this case and quickly identifying the suspects."

In the aftermath of this tragedy, Ingram's wife, Kaleigh, initiated a fundraiser to cover funeral expenses and secure their family home. She described Blake as her best friend and the love of her life for 15 years, highlighting his caring and selfless nature, and his devotion to their 5-year-old daughter, Maddie.
