On March 21, 2023, at approximately 12:28 a.m., the Austin Police Department (APD) responded to multiple 911 calls reporting gunshots near the 800 block of Montopolis Drive in southeast Austin. Upon arrival, officers discovered 20-year-old Jacob Anthony Soto lying unresponsive in the middle of the street with an apparent gunshot wound.
