On the evening of March 22, 2023, 17-year-old Isaias Esquivel was fatally shot in Old East Dallas. At approximately 9:10 p.m., a passing driver discovered Esquivel lying unresponsive in the 600 block of North Prairie Avenue and alerted authorities. Upon arrival, Dallas Police officers identified Esquivel, who had sustained a gunshot wound, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
