On March 30, 2023, Darrell "BTB Savage" Gentry, a 26-year-old rapper from Houston, Texas, was fatally shot in a drive-by shooting in the River Oaks area of Houston. The incident occurred around 6:10 p.m. near the 2100 block of Mid Lane. Gentry was found deceased at the scene inside his white Mercedes-Benz, which had been riddled with bullet holes.
