Deonn Edward K. Colomb-Moore, a 31-year-old Black man, was killed in Houston, Texas, in the early morning of April 2, 2023. At approximately 5:35 a.m., Houston police officers responded to a call about a shooting at 5028 Winnetka Street. When they arrived, they found Colomb-Moore lying between two houses. He had been shot multiple times. Emergency responders transported him to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
The investigation into the shooting revealed that it had
followed an argument between Colomb-Moore and another individual. As authorities looked further into the circumstances, they identified 35-year-old Brandon Jerome Crenshaw as the suspect. On April 17, 2023, Crenshaw was arrested without incident by members of the Houston Police Department's Northeast Crime Suppression Team.
Following his arrest, Crenshaw was charged with murder. The case was filed in the 209th State District Court. As of the arrest in April 2023, the case is pending judicial proceedings.
In the weeks after his death, family and friends gathered to mourn Deonn Edward K. Colomb-Moore. A visitation was held on the morning of April 29, 2023, at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church on Shotwell Street in Houston. The funeral service took place immediately afterward at the church, and he was later interred at Houston Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
