On April 17, 2023, at approximately 5:58 a.m., Corpus Christi Police Department officers responded to a reported shooting at a residence in the 3800 block of Woodhouse Lane on the city's south side. Upon arrival, they discovered 23-year-old Ashton Nicole France Dudley and an adult male, both suffering from gunshot wounds. Both individuals were transported to a local hospital with serious injuries; tragically, Ashton succumbed to her injuries later that day.
