On the evening of May 27, 2023, 54-year-old Vicente H. Zurita was fatally shot at Mary's Car Wash, located in the 2900 block of Commercial Avenue on San Antonio's South Side. San Antonio police responded to reports of a shooting around 9:50 p.m. and found Zurita lying next to his truck in a car wash bay, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite life-saving efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
