On June 10, 2023, 64-year-old Patricia Saucedo was found deceased in her home on East Chavaneaux Road in San Antonio, Texas. Her sister, 68-year-old Dores Campos, was present at the scene and admitted to emergency responders that she had shot Saucedo with a .22 caliber firearm, which was later recovered from the residence.
The discovery was made by a family member who, upon arriving at the home, heard Campos exclaiming, "She's on the floor."
After forcibly entering the residence, the family member found both Saucedo and another woman, 72-year-old Linda Blann, deceased. While Campos confessed to shooting Saucedo, the cause of Blann's death was not immediately clear, and an autopsy was pending to determine whether foul play was involved.
Following her confession, Campos was arrested and charged with murder in connection with Saucedo's death. She was booked into the Bexar County Jail with bond set at $250,000.
In July 2024, Campos entered a no-contest plea to a lesser charge of manslaughter, thereby avoiding a potential prison sentence. She was sentenced to 10 years of probation as part of a plea agreement, which also included a prohibition against contacting her family members.
