On June 29, 2023, at approximately 5 p.m., the Orange County Sheriff's Office responded to a disturbance at a residence in the 3900 block of Lakeview Cutoff Street in Pine Forest, near Vidor, Texas. A woman had reported that a man, identified as 48-year-old Kenneth Edward Walhood, was making threats to harm her. Fearing for her safety, she locked herself in a bathroom and managed to escape through a window before deputies arrived.
