On November 25, 2024, at approximately 7:40 p.m., Officer Cooper Dawson, a 27-year-old law enforcement officer from Greenville, Texas, initiated a traffic stop in the 3500 block of Pickett Street. The individual he stopped was known to have multiple felony warrants. The suspect fled on foot, prompting Officer Dawson to pursue him behind the residence at 3517 Pickett Street.
