On September 25, 2023, 24-year-old Jamiya Anthroneisha Strong was fatally shot at the Garden Park Apartments in East Arlington, Texas. Officers responding to a shooting call around 5 p.m. found Strong lying near a dark-colored pickup truck, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She was transported to Medical City Arlington, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
In January 2024, Arlington Police identified 20-year-old Juan Angel Fraire as a person of interest in the case, believing he possessed crucial information regarding the shooting. Despite efforts to locate him, Fraire remained elusive. By March 2024, with no arrests made, Strong's family offered a $2,000 reward for information leading to an arrest, expressing their anguish and urging anyone with knowledge to come forward.
As of December 2024, the investigation into Strong's death remains active. Authorities continue to seek public assistance in locating Fraire and gathering information to bring closure to Strong's grieving family.
