On July 3, 2023, at approximately 3:05 a.m., Houston police officers responded to a shooting incident in the parking lot of an apartment complex located at 1221 Redford Street. Upon arrival, they discovered 30-year-old Erick Alexander Romero Otero inside a parked vehicle, suffering from a gunshot wound. Paramedics from the Houston Fire Department arrived shortly thereafter and pronounced him deceased at the scene.
