On July 6, 2023, in El Paso's Upper Valley, 59-year-old Tracy Bean was fatally shot during a confrontation with her son, 31-year-old Jake Bean. The incident occurred at the family's residence on Strahan Road, where the Bean family operated the Johnny Bean Horse Farm, a longstanding establishment offering temporary stables for visiting horses.
