Elsa Mendoza de la Mora, a 57-year-old Mexican woman, tragically lost her life on August 3, 2019, during the mass shooting at a Walmart in El Paso, Texas. She was a special education teacher and principal at Rafael Veloz Elementary School in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. Elsa was shopping at the Walmart when the gunman, identified as Patrick Crusius, opened fire with an AK-47-style rifle, killing 22 people. Her husband and son were waiting for her in the parking lot when the shooting began.
