On July 10, 2023, Robert Wise, a 55-year-old businessman from Mission, Texas, was fatally shot outside the McAllen Masonic Lodge No. 1110, located at 118 N. 11th Street in McAllen. Wise, a respected member of the local business community and a Freemason, had just attended an officer installation meeting at the lodge.
