On July 19, 2023, at approximately 11:55 p.m., Port Arthur Police Department officers responded to reports of gunfire at the Port Arthur Townhomes, located in the 3500 block of Turtle Creek Drive. Upon arrival, they discovered 29-year-old Jhamiah Clyde Dixon lying unresponsive in the parking lot, having suffered a single gunshot wound to his back. Justice of the Peace Joseph Guillory II pronounced Dixon dead at the scene and ordered an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
