On July 27, 2023, Dallas police conducted a welfare check at a residence in the 6500 block of University Hills Boulevard. Upon arrival, they discovered 39-year-old Becky Alvarado Tamayo deceased from a gunshot wound.
Subsequent investigations led to the arrest of her husband, 36-year-old Cruse Tamayo, on August 2, 2023. He was charged with Becky's murder and detained in the Dallas County Jail with a bond set at $1 million.
