On July 6, 2024, Dallas police conducted a welfare check at the residence of 49-year-old Sonya Warren, located on Llano Avenue in the Lakewood Heights neighborhood of Old East Dallas. Upon entry, officers discovered Warren deceased from a gunshot wound to the head. Notably, her doorbell camera had been forcibly removed from its mounting, indicating potential tampering with security evidence.
