On the afternoon of December 11, 2025, a violent tragedy unfolded in Far North Dallas involving 24-year-old female Arlina Sanders. Dallas Police officers were dispatched to a residence in the 15800 block of El Estado Drive shortly before 3:00 p.m. in response to reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival at the scene, law enforcement officials discovered two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. Sanders was found critically injured and was pronounced dead at the location by emergency responders. The second victim, identified as 27-year-old Darvilease Washington, was transported to a local hospital for urgent medical care but ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
As the investigation commenced, detectives began to piece together evidence that led them to identify a potential suspect and a vehicle associated with the crime. The vehicle was determined to be registered to an address in the neighboring city of Mesquite. While investigators were in the process of securing an arrest warrant, they received critical information from the Mesquite Police Department regarding a separate shooting incident within their jurisdiction. Coordination between the two departments revealed that the individual suspected of the double homicide in Dallas had been located.
The suspect was discovered deceased in the driveway of a home in the 1000 block of Craig Drive in Mesquite. According to police reports, the individual had died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, bringing an immediate but somber end to the manhunt. Authorities did not initially release the identity of the suspect pending further investigation and notification of next of kin.
