On the night of June 25, 2023, at approximately 10:15 p.m., Dallas police officers responded to a call in the 1000 block of Rose Garden Avenue in the Pleasant Grove neighborhood. Upon arrival, they discovered 36-year-old Nancy Banda suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. She was immediately transported by Dallas Fire-Rescue to a local hospital. Despite medical efforts, Banda was pronounced brain dead and was removed from life support on June 26, 2023.
