On the evening of June 10, 2023, at approximately 10:30 p.m., Dallas police responded to a shooting incident at the Cherokee Village Apartments, located in the 400 block of North Jim Miller Road. Upon arrival, officers discovered 23-year-old LaTorra Monay Allen lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to her neck. She was promptly transported to a local hospital by Dallas Fire-Rescue, where she was later pronounced dead.
