On the morning of August 3, 2023, the Harris County Sheriff's Office responded to a call at the Avaya apartment complex located at 9001 Jones Road in northwest Harris County, Texas. Upon arrival, deputies discovered 23-year-old Cameron Azema deceased inside an apartment, having suffered fatal gunshot wounds. Friends of Azema had found his body earlier and alerted authorities.
