On December 16, 2023, at approximately 5:10 p.m., Houston police officers responded to reports of a shooting outside a residence at 13234 Adler Drive. Upon arrival, they found 32-year-old Montre Dijon Birdow critically injured from a gunshot wound. He was immediately transported by Houston Fire Department paramedics to Ben Taub General Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries the following day.
Following an investigation, authorities identified two suspects involved in the incident. Ronald Hamilton, 25, was apprehended on January 13, 2024, during a traffic stop conducted by the New Braunfels Police Department. He was subsequently extradited to Harris County and charged with murder in the 482nd State District Court. The second suspect, 19-year-old Aaron Joshua James, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 177th State District Court. As of January 25, 2024, James remained at large, and law enforcement agencies urged anyone with information regarding his whereabouts to contact the Houston Police Department's Homicide Division or Crime Stoppers.
