Horatio Rodriguez Harris was a 37-year-old Black man from Houston, Texas, who worked as a truck driver. Known to some by the nickname "2 Solo Dolo," he was remembered by loved ones as a father who had a beautiful spirit. His life was cut short in the summer of 2023.
On the afternoon of August 17, 2023, Houston Police Department officers responded to reports of a shooting at 3700 Tierwester Street in the city’s Greater Third Ward. At approximately 12:40 p.m., they arrived to find Mr.

A preliminary investigation soon revealed that Harris and the suspect knew each other and had been involved in recent arguments.
Two days later, on August 19, authorities publicly identified 44-year-old Edward Domon Brown as the suspect and charged him with murder. Brown remained wanted until August 22, when officers with the HPD Northeast Patrol Division arrested him during a traffic stop.
At the time of his arrest, police found Brown in possession of a stolen gun and a controlled substance. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office filed two additional felony charges against him for felon in possession of a weapon and possession of a controlled substance. The murder charge against Brown was filed in the 183rd State District Court, where proceedings were pending as of August 2023.
