On October 31, 2024, 38-year-old Eric Pait Jr. was fatally shot in the garage of his home on Hawks Nest Drive in Houston, Texas. The incident occurred around 11:15 p.m. on Halloween night. Witnesses reported seeing an individual wearing a white Michael Myers mask, reminiscent of the "Halloween" movie series, approaching Pait and opening fire. Two of Pait's children were inside the house at the time but were unharmed; a third child was with a relative.
