On November 5, 2024, a tragic shooting occurred at the Tierra Del Sol Apartments, located at 8000 Cook Road in Houston, Texas. Eddie Gomez, aged 17, and Jonathan Hernandez, also 17, were found unresponsive with gunshot wounds in the complex's laundry room; both were pronounced dead at the scene.
