On August 28, 2023, in Allen, Texas, 12-year-old Shaheen Sherwani was found deceased alongside his family in their home, the result of an apparent murder-suicide. The victims included his father, Farman Sherwani; mother, Layla Sherwani; and 2-year-old brother, Mateen. This tragedy occurred just weeks after the family mourned the loss of their 4-year-old daughter, Lyian, who had drowned earlier that month.
