On the evening of September 29, 2023, Lubbock police responded to reports of a fight in progress in the 3200 block of Baylor Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered 41-year-old Ismael "Mito" Saenz with multiple gunshot wounds; he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Initial investigations suggested that a group had gathered in the area for a confrontation. Among them was 25-year-old Isaac Deleon. Witnesses reported seeing Deleon, identified by his red shirt, allegedly pointing a pistol ...
