On October 16, 2023, at approximately 1:26 a.m., Austin Police Department officers responded to a report of an unresponsive man in the 2200 block of East Riverside Drive. Upon arrival, they discovered 28-year-old Jader Francisco Tinoco-Salgado with gunshot wounds; he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A preliminary investigation revealed that Tinoco-Salgado had been involved in an argument with his cousin, 35-year-old Elvin Salvador Tinoco-Orosco. The dispute escalated, culminating in T ...
