On November 11, 2023, Senior Police Officer Jorge Ignacio Pastore, aged 38, was fatally shot during a hostage situation in Austin, Texas. The incident began around 2:49 a.m. when a woman called 911 from a residence on Bernoulli Drive, reporting that she was being stabbed.
