Upon arrival, they found 17-year-old Alexander Jaimes suffering from a gunshot wound. Jaimes was promptly transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation revealed that Jaimes had been involved in a verbal altercation with a female suspect known to him. This dispute escalated into a physical confrontation, culminating in the suspect shooting Jaimes. As of the latest reports, no arrests have been made, and the suspect's identity has not been publicly disclosed. APD has stated that there is no ongoing threat to the community.
In the wake of this tragedy, the community has been urged to assist in the investigation. APD's Homicide Unit has requested that anyone with information come forward, offering avenues for anonymous tips through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program, with the possibility of a reward up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest.
