On December 3, 2023, 15-year-old Payton Frank Pesina tragically lost his life in an accidental shooting during a family hunting trip in Presidio County, Texas. The incident occurred in a well-known hunting area along Highway 67 between Presidio and Shafter. While preparing rifles for the day's activities, Payton accidentally discharged a firearm, resulting in a fatal chest wound.
