On January 4, 2024, at approximately 5:15 a.m., Dallas Police responded to a welfare check in the 9800 block of Whitehurst Drive in the Lake Highlands area. Upon arrival, officers discovered 26-year-old Kishon Ellis-Washington with gunshot wounds. Despite prompt medical attention from Dallas Fire-Rescue, Ellis-Washington was pronounced dead at the scene.
