On January 30, 2024, 15-year-old Moises Huerta Gonzalez was fatally shot at a residence in the 2500 block of Southland Street in South Dallas, approximately half a mile from Lincoln High School. Dallas police responded to the scene around 10:45 a.m., discovering Gonzalez with a gunshot wound; he was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
